Mr. Myllenbeck asked that the City <br />Council move to put the procedure into action to facilitate the wel- <br />come signs with attached service organization logos as soon as possi- <br />ble. <br />Councilmember Kough thanked Mr. Myllenbeck for attending and <br />speaking tonight. Councilmember Kough noted that the V.F.W. was <br />in the process of changing Commanders and wanted to confirm their <br />commitment to the project. Councilmember Kough expressed interest <br />in the proposed sign; however, further noted that there was an inter- <br />ested party in the community who did brick work, and he'd like to be <br />involved and have brick involved in the signs. Councilmember <br />Kough noted issues to be considered: location, maintenance, replace- <br />ment of damaged signs or portions thereof and possible need for a <br />maintenance agreement. Councilmember Kough expressed his enthu- <br />siastic support of the welcome signage and welcomed the gesture and <br />participation of the five service clubs. <br />Mr. Myllenbeck advised that since initial conversations with Coun- <br />cilmember Kough, some things had changed including the financial <br />and membership status of the participating clubs and fewer fundrais- <br />ing dollars. Mr. Myllenbeck advised that they could only provide the <br />logos, their attachment and their maintenance and other than those <br />items, the clubs could not definitely commit to any other financial ob- <br />ligations at this time. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed his support for going forward at <br />this time by decision of the City Council and service clubs as to loca- <br />tion then seeing recommendation as to details from the City's Advi- <br />sory Commissions as applicable. <br />Councilmember Pust concurred with Councilmember Kough that it <br />was a great idea to install the signs and provided her full support for <br />doing so; however, she opined the issue should be sent to the Public <br />Works, Environment and Transportation (PWET) Commission for <br />their recommendation on the design to ensure consistency, determina- <br />tion of location and financial implications. Councilmember Pust <br />thanked Mr. Myllenbeck for updating the City Council on their ability <br />
