Malinen (herehlafter refelred to as the "Mal~lager") as of the 13th day of <br />December, 2Q06. <br />VirrIER.~EAS, the City wishes to engage the services of the Manager as a professional employee; arld <br />VirHEI~EAS, the parties wish to set forth the terms and COnd'itlOnS of their relationship i.n this <br />contract in order to assure the requisite flexibility to enable the Manager to function as the City's chief <br />administrative of~cial~; and <br />V~EREAS, tl~e nature of the Manager's position requires continued professional training and <br />attendance at meetings during evenings and other non-traditional work times. <br />:l`~IU~iV, TfiEP.ErC~~~, irl consideration of the mut~aa! covenants set fol~tl~l in this agreement; the City <br />and Ma~iager agree as~ follows: <br />Section l..~~,plo}~.n~ent. Manager shall be employed. by the City as the City Manager commencing <br />on~ the 8tli day of January; 2007. <br />Section. Z. I)utges: The duties of the Manager's position shall be as set forth- in the job description, <br />and in accordance with state statutes and City ordinances and Such other legally pel-nzlsslble and proper <br />duties and functions as the City Council shall from time to time assign. <br />Section. 3. I~ischa~-~e oI' ~utics. Manager shall be paid a salary as a FLSA exempt professional <br />employee and shall not be paid overtime for haur.s in excess of ~0 hours per week and similarly shall-b~e able <br />to be absent in consideration of extraordinary time expenditures: The discharge of lV.lanager's duties requires <br />work outside the normal work. day for meetilags and projects. To that end, the Manager tivill work flexible <br />hours as. is necessary to Manager to discharge the ditties of his position and maybe absent from the office to <br />a reasonable extent during nol`mal. work hours in consideration of extraordinary time expenditures at other <br />than nonz3al working;hours. <br />Section 4. Partici~ati~n ire :~mployee:~enefits. <br />A) Ilealtla~ Insur~ar~ce. The City shall provide health insurance coverage for the Manager in the <br />same fashion as it provides health insurance for fulltime non-union employees: <br />~) Rife ~nsura.nce. The City shall provide life insurance coverage for the Maltager in- tl~e same <br />fashion as it provides life insurance for fulltime non-union employees. <br />C) Paid 'l'ime d~If (P'T~). Manager shall accrue PTt) bi-weekly in accordance with the <br />pravision~ of the City's PTC policy from the first day of employment equal to 1 S years service credit; which <br />is equivalent to 2~ days annually. Manager shall be credited wide l5 days, or l20 hours, into PTt~ bank at <br />the beginni7~g.of employment: All other policy guidelines will remain as~ stated' in City policy. <br />-1- <br />
