ecgal ~ ei ee~~ i <br />onday, Aug st 6, 7 <br />Page <br />into play and how City representatives treat all Roseville residents and <br />visitors. <br />Ms. Bosch observed that this media coverage had raised the ire of the <br />entire community, not necessarily toward city representatives or peo- <br />ple of color, but rather toward the Human Rights Chair, Ms. Delmore. <br />Ms. Bosch opined that this provided an excellent mirroring opportu- <br />nity for the community, how it protects and how it doesn't, and noted <br />that while these statements are hers personally, the Human Rights <br />Corntnission had been discussing these very issues. Ms. Bosch noted <br />that, due to the media coverage, people were paying close attention to <br />city representatives and Police officers. <br />On a separate issue, Ms. Bosch relayed a message from her husband, <br />also an ardent supporter of law enforcement, expressing concerns with <br />excessive speed in their residential neighborhood between County <br />Road B-2 and C, between Plamline and Snelling Avenues. Ms. Bosch <br />noted several separate incidents during the summer when vehicles <br />were driving at excessive speeds, apparently oblivious to pedestrian <br />and bicycle traffic on those roads. Ms. Bosch advised that her hus- <br />band had asked that this concern be brought to the City Council's at- <br />tention. <br />Ms. Bosch thanked the City Council for the opportunity to speak; reit- <br />erated her appreciation for law enforcement officers; and asked that <br />her comments be taken under consideration with the respect with <br />which they were intended; and asked that the City Council take these <br />issues of diversity and community relations seriously. <br />Mayor Klausing expressed his concern and perspective regarding the <br />specifics of this particular case, with the citizen identifying herself as <br />a member of the Human Rights Commission, and her relationship to <br />the vehicle operator being personally known to her, and how issues <br />could be separated. <br />Ms. Bosch questioned the amount of leeway a commissioner would be <br />given; however, noted that the commissioner was also a member of <br />the community who felt the situation was inappropriate and had per- <br />sonal concerns.
