Regular City C®uncil eating
®nday, July 2~, 2007
Page 4
Councilmember Pust thanked Ms. Laur for holding the City Council
accountable.
c. a c e ee, 77 i a ane
Ms. McGehee opined that there were a number of code enforcement
issues that needed attention in the City, and expressed her apprecia-
tion that the City Council was going to work on the issue.
Ms. McGehee further opined that tonight's Council Agenda packet
was so massive, and included numerous and critical land use issues, it
seemed onerous to ask the City Council to digest all that material and
make timely and considered decisions.
IVIs. McGehee provided her historical perspective on the Twin bakes
Redevelopment Area and issues associated with it, for the benefit of
City Manager Malinen's brief tenure with the City, and taxpayer mon-
ies spent to-date during the ensuing legal process. Ms. McCJehee
questioned the process used by the Council majority during the proc-
ess, especially some actions when there was pending litigation.
Ms. Mc(sehee opined that the City Council needed to pay careful at-
tention when making land use decisions; and that consideration of de-
cisions and consequences for using taxpayer monies were not taken
lightly; and further opined that she hoped the City Council took into
consideration those past lessons when reviewing several of tonight's
land use issues.
1~rt ueler, 2201 Ac®rn ®a
Mr. Mueller asked the City Council's consideration of voting on his
land use item, Agenda Item 12.c entitled, "Consider Approving Final
Plat and Public Improvement Contract for ®ak Acres (Art Mueller) at
2201 Acorn Road," noting the recent petition sent to the Environ-
mental Quality Board (EQB) by adjoining property owners.
City Manager Malinen advised that staff and the City Attorney had
just been provided information that the EQB had received a petition
relative to his subdivision proposal, which may preclude Council ac-
tion tonight pending an Environmental Assessment Worksheet
(EAW).
