City Council Study Session <br />Monday, September 17, 2007 <br />Page 5 <br />Further discussion included the risk in potential loss of patronage dur- <br />ing the temporary move and reconstruction process; and the "magic" <br />of the Roseville Library facility and the need to retain that success. <br />Mr. Norrgard and Ms. Nemitz asked Councilmembers, and the public, <br />for their support addressed to the Ramsey County Board of Commis- <br />sioners during the process; and acknowledged the support of Ramsey <br />County Commissioner Jan Parker during the process, in her role on <br />the Library Board of Trustees, as well as the County Board. <br />Mr. Norrgard advised that they would continue to seek the assistance <br />of staff during the planning process for traffic management issues and <br />other concerns needing addressed to make sure the City Council and <br />the public continue to be informed about the short- and long-term vi- <br />sion and plan for this cooperative venture in meeting the needs of the <br />library and the City. <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Ms. Nemitz and Mr. Norrgard for their pres- <br />entation and for providing this information to the City Council and <br />public; acknowledging that the library served as a major amenity in <br />the community; and expressed his personal excitement about the fu- <br />ture of the library. <br />b. Imagine Roseville 2025 -Review Advisory Commission Com- <br />ments <br />City Manager Bill Malinen briefly reviewed previous Council direc- <br />tive to staff for soliciting input, comment and priorities from advisory <br />commissions and the HRA on the Imagine Roseville 2025 Goals and <br />Strategies. Feedback from these parties was included in the Council <br />agenda packet materials. Staff sought Council direction as to how to <br />continue the process for developing a plan to prioritize and budget for <br />cost and staffing requirements for short and long term goals, with pe- <br />riodic review; or whether a consultant should be hired to assist in de- <br />veloping such a plan. <br />Mayor Klausing opined that in reading through the brainstorming <br />comments from advisory commissions, there were many interesting <br />ideas; however, he questioned what things were already being done, <br />
