Councilmember Pust <br />identified Item 3.A.4.a, expressing her interest in coordinating and networking <br />volunteers, while not supporting all brainstorming ideas defined; opining that a lot <br />could be done at the neighborhood level, including defining and educating citi- <br />zens on a neighborhood basis, providing rationale for people pulling together (i.e., <br />park maintenance, activities, emergency preparedness, senior programs, such as <br />"Are you OK?," and repurposing neighborhood watch systems) as an effective fo- <br />rum to address and make sense of strengths from diversity within the community. <br />Councilmember Pust concurred that Item 3.B.2.a (community center) needed fur- <br />ther discussion, driven by community need and a thoroughly informed citizenry <br />informed with the economics of those choices. Councihmember Pust further iden- <br />tified Items 3.D.l.b (page 16); Item 3.D.l.d (page 17); and Item 3.D.l.n (page 17) <br />as highlighted items on her list. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed interest in Item 3.A.2.d, not so much from a <br />community center perspective, but as a way to encourage performing arts and <br />showing off talent in the community. <br />Mayor Klausing, noting time constraints, suggesting that individual Councilmem- <br />bers focus on identifying their highlighted items, with less explanation, allowing <br />more extensive discussion on consensus items at a future meeting. Councilmem- <br />bers concurred. <br />4) Roseville residents are invested in their community (pages 18 - 21) <br />Councilmember Roe identified Item 4.B.3.b (page 20) related to website service. <br />Councilmember Ihlan identified Item 4.A.1 (page 18) related to community-based <br />planning and civic involvement. <br />Councilmember Pust identified Item 4.A.6.a (page 19) related to community re- <br />source volunteer networks; Item 4.B.4.6 (page 20) related to the website; and <br />asked that staff provide additional information regarding whether billing for the <br />leaf pick-up program could be provided electronically onto utility bills, as she`d <br />previously requested staff to research. <br />Councilmember Kough identified pathway extensions (i.e., Fairview Avenue <br />from County Road B to Roselawn) as a priority item; with Mayor Klausing con- <br />curring and noting that this item was identified as Item 11.3.6.a (page 47). <br />Safe <br />5) Roseville is a safe community (pages 21-26) <br />Councilmember Ihlan identified Item S.A.S (page 24), noting that it overlapped <br />with Item 11 as well. <br />
