Special City Council Meeting <br />Minutes of 10/01/07 <br />Page 9 <br />Councilmember Pust identified Items 7.A.1 (page 33); and Items 7.A.3.b and <br />7.A.S.a (page 34); and Items 7.B.a and 7.B.3.a (page 35). <br />Parks, Open Space, Recreation & Wellness <br />8) Roseville has world-renowned parks, open space, and multi-generational rec- <br />reation programs and facilities (pages 35 - 40) <br />Mayor Klausing identified Item 8.A.l.a (page 38), tracking recreational trends, as <br />one of his top five priorities, to keep ahead of the curve for recreational needs in <br />the community; along with Item 8.B.2.a (page 38). <br />Councilmember Roe advised that, while not on his priority list, he had highlighted <br />Item 8.A.4.b (page 36), specifically addressing pathway safety (an un-numbered <br />item). <br />Councilmember Ihlan identified Item 8.A.4 (page 36) related to maintaining and <br />improving trails, wetlands and nature centers, specifically brainstorming ideas <br />connected, as a worthy discussion; Item 8.B.a (page 38), specifically the last item <br />implementing a plan to retain open and green space; and Item 8.3.e (page 39) re- <br />lated to connectivity. <br />Councilmember Pust concurred with those items already identified. <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in general support of maintaining as much green <br />and open space as possible; and opined that enhanced and facilitated volunteerism <br />was the key to park maintenance. <br />9) Roseville supports the health and wellness of community members (pages 40 <br />- 41) <br />Councilmember Roe identified no specifics; however, noted that he was suppor- <br />tive in general. <br />Councilmembers Ihlan and Kough identified no items. <br />Councilmember Pust opined that most would fit into defined neighborhood and <br />community volunteer centers. <br />Mayor Klausing identified no items; however, opined that some pathways would <br />fit in this item, as overall community health and safety issues. <br />Education <br />10) Roseville supports high quality, life-long learning (pages 41- 43) <br />Councilmembers Ihlan and Roe, and Mayor Klausing, identified no specific <br />items. <br />
