The City Attorney is authorized to give oral illfor111a1 advice to persons <br />seeking guidance as to the spirit or legal requirements of the Roseville <br />Ethics Code. Such informal advice shall be rendered only to an individual <br />that wishes to use the advice to guide the individual's own conduct. In <br />giving such infor-lnal opinion the City Attorney shall infonll the individual <br />that although the advice is given in good faith, the person seeking the <br />advice relies on it at the person's own risk insofar as it is not a written <br />advisory opinion. Such opinions maybe given orally, by phone or <br />otherwise. ~~11e21 glvlllg such an Op1111011, the Clty Attorney shall nlallltalll <br />a record of the opinion rendered. The City Attorney shall pel-iodically <br />inform the Commission of all infol-111a1 opinions given. <br />2. The City Attorney is also authorized to give oral informal advice to <br />employees not covered by the Roseville Ethics Code on any other ethical <br />requirement applicable to them. Such illforlnal advice shall be rendered <br />only to an individual that wishes to use the advice to guide the individuals <br />own conduct. In seeking such advice, the employee shall first discuss the <br />matter with his supervisor. The supervisor shall then discuss the matter <br />with the City Manager, who may then seek an infol-111a1 opinion from the <br />City Attorney.
