e Iar it o ell eeti <br />on ay, cto er <br />age <br />Councilmember Roe suggested acost-effective definition of the border between <br />the turf and prairie grass area. <br />Councilmember Pust suggested cost-effective installation of informational signs <br />to provide awareness of the intentional and environmental purpose of the native <br />plantings. <br />Mr. Schwartz noted that the County Road C streetscape project had been delayed, <br />and opined that once completed, it should assist in defining the natural area. Mr. <br />Schwartz advised that there had originally been some signs installed; and offered <br />to attempt to locate them for installation. <br />Councilmember Roe further suggested information provided inside the lobby of <br />City Hall explaining the native planting areas. <br />Mayor Klausing concurred that a more defined border would help considerably; <br />and questioned the need for future burns of the prairie grass, similar to other na- <br />tive grass burn requests. <br />Mr. Schwartz advised that usually after the third year of growth, a burn would be <br />appropriate, and would be a future consideration. <br />b. Pavement Management Program -Consider Approving the 2008 Pavement <br />Management Program (PMP) <br />Public Works Director Schwartz presented staff's recommendations for 2008 in- <br />frastructure maintenance and replacement, specifically related to the Pavement <br />Management Program (PMP). <br />Mr. Schwartz specifically addressed the area known as Neighborhood 10 (Asbury <br />Street and Ridgewood Road) as previously ordered for reconstruction in 2008, <br />advising that plans at this time were to proceed; however, the City Council had <br />previously ordered the project contingent upon conjunctive construction with the <br />City of Arden Hills, and staff s intention to return to the City Council with any <br />changes from previous presentations. Mr. Schwartz advised that the City of Ar- <br />den Hills' City Council would be receiving the Feasibility Report on their portion <br />of the project in December of this year, and anticipated a decision by January of <br />2008; with the City of Roseville ready with the City's portion of the project, and <br />prepared to return to the City Council following the City of Arden Hills' decision. <br />Mr. Schwartz noted that considerable maintenance dollars had been spent in the <br />neighborhood again this summer; and opined that the reconstruction needed to be <br />done as soon as possible; and further noted that residents were finally realizing <br />the extent of maintenance required annually. <br />Mr. Schwartz concluded his assessment of proposed mill and overlay, reconstruc- <br />tion, and pathway and parking lot rehabilitations projects outlined; their individ- <br />
