Regular City Council Meeting Monday, Apri114, 2008 Page 2 During later discussion, Councilmember Roe noted that members of the commu- nity had expressed interest in further display of those items previously displayed at the 2007 and 2008 Celebration of Life events; and suggested that the items be displayed at City Hall. Mayor Klausing thanked Councilmember Roe for the suggestion; and City Man- ager Malinen advised that staff would display items at City Hall for public review. 2. Approve Agenda City Manager Malinen advised that Consent Agenda Item 7.k, entitled "Approve Re- newal of St. Paul Fire Department Training Facility Lease Agreement," had been re- moved for a future agenda. By consensus, the agenda was approved as amended. 3. Public Comment Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on any non- agenda items. No one appeared to speak 4. Council Communications, Reports & Announcements Mayor Klausing announced that the City's request to the State Legislature for bonding funds of $600,000 had been included in the legislation signed by Governor Pawlenty for health and safety improvements to the Guidant John Rose OVAL. Mayor Klausing thanked the City's legislative delegation for their support, as well as us- ers of the OVAL who had lent their support to the OVAL through contact with their leg- islators. Mayor Klausing also noted that the City owed a debt of gratitude to City of Roseville staff members, Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke and Communica- tions Specialist Carolyn Curti for their work on and guidance in the process. 5. Recognitions, Donations, Communications b. Recognition of Retiring Commissioners On behalf of the community, Mayor Klausing presented Proclamations of Appre- ciation to retiring City Advisory Commissioners for their service. Mayor Klausing recognized David Apolloni for his dedicated service to the City of Roseville on the Roseville Ethics Commission; noting that Mr. Apolloni had sent his apologies that he was unable to attend tonight's meeting. Mayor Klausing recognized Ildephonse Gasongo for dedicated service to the City of Roseville on the Roseville Planning Commission; and presented him with a plaque.
