Consider Request to Perform a City Abatement for unresolved <br />City Code Violations at 2536 Snelling Avenue <br />Permit Coordinator Don Munson provided a summary of the staff re- <br />port dated June 16, 2008, and up-to-date pictures of the property; as <br />well as the most current property owner (a mortgage company) based <br />on Ramsey County property tax records. <br />Councilmember Pust suggested that, prior to the abatement process, <br />staff work with the City Attorney regarding recouping city costs based <br />on the property's apparent foreclosure status in order to protect the <br />city's assets. <br />Public Comment <br />Allison Huiras, Neighbor at 2540 Snelling Avenue <br />Ms. Huiras thanked staff for their ongoing work with this property, <br />and expressed frustration that the neighbor's patience over the last two <br />years remained unfulfilled. Ms. Huiras reviewed some of the past <br />• problems when the property .was used as a rental by those without a <br />stake in the community; problems with vicious dogs; and current deg- <br />
