Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, June 16, 2008 <br />Page 15 <br />• compliant a ui ment, with new assets i.e. new restroom f i ' ' <br />q P ( ac litres at <br />Central Park). <br />Concluding discussion and consensus included the need for the P & R <br />Commission to get active in preparing master plans for the park and <br />facility system; continued incremental increasing in the PIP to support <br />the system; with Autumn Grove Park one of the top priorities. <br />Commissioners noted the increased use of the city's parks -based on <br />current economics; and Councilmembers encouraged the P & R <br />Commission to establish their 2009 priorities and rankings. <br />Chair Johnson thanked the Council for meeting with the Commission; <br />and expressed the Commission's interest in working with the Public <br />and the City Council in the planning process. <br />11. Public Hearings <br />• 12. Business Items -Action Items <br />a. Consider Request to Perform a City Abatement for unresolved <br />City Code Violations at 2536 Snelling Avenue <br />Permit Coordinator Don Munson provided a summary of the staff re- <br />port dated June 16, 2008, and up-to-date pictures of the property; as <br />well as the most current property owner (a mortgage company) based <br />on Ramsey County property tax records. <br />Councilmember Pust suggested that, prior to the abatement process, <br />staff work with the City Attorney regarding recouping city costs based <br />on the property's apparent foreclosure status in order to protect the <br />city's assets. <br />Public Comment <br />Allison Huiras, Neighbor at 2540 Snelling Avenue <br />Ms. Huiras thanked staff for their ongoing work with this property, <br />and expressed frustration that the neighbor's patience over the last two <br />years remained unfulfilled. Ms. Huiras reviewed some of the past <br />• problems when the property .was used as a rental by those without a <br />stake in the community; problems with vicious dogs; and current deg- <br />
