Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, June 16, 2008 <br />Page 24 <br />Klausin moved, Pust seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10638 • <br />g <br />entitled, "Resolution approving the Mayor's Appointment of Michael <br />Tracy to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the <br />City of Roseville to fill and unexpired term, ending September 23, <br />2009;" as amended and provided as a bench handout. <br />Councilmember Willmus referenced his written a-mail comments to <br />the City Council, provided as a bench handout, regarding not support- <br />ing the appointment of Mr. Tracy, based on comments during the in- <br />terview process regarding his thoughts on twin homes and housing op- <br />tions. <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in support of Mr. Tracy's appointment. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Pust; Roe and Klausing. <br />Nays: Willmus. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Business Items -Presentations, Discussions <br />i. Discuss a Proposed Special Election Ordinance <br />Councilmember Roe provided comments and a draft ordinance <br />amending Section 103.06 regarding filling Council vacancies. Mr. <br />Roe noted revised language provided as a bench handout. <br />In another bench handout, Councilmember Roe provided a visual rep- <br />resentation of a special election timeframe. <br />Councilmember Pust expressed her support of the proposed ordinance <br />language, opining the need to have something in place to avoid cir- <br />cumstances that disallowed a special election to fill Councilmember <br />Kough's unexpected vacancy. <br />Councilmember Willmus expressed his support of the proposed ordi- <br />nance, opining that it was a step in the right direction. <br />• <br />
