Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, March 17, 2008 <br />Page 10 <br />• Roll Call <br />Ayes: Pust: Ihlan; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Pust moved, Klausing seconded, enactment of Official Summary of Ordinance <br />No.1361 entitled, "An Ordinance Amending Title 9 by Adding Section 907 to the <br />City of Roseville City Code Regarding Registration of Residential Rental Prop- <br />erty of 1 to 4 Units." <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Pust: Ihlan; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />10. Presentations <br />a. Harriet Alexander Nature Center Planning Committee Final Report <br />Assistant Parks & Recreation Director Jill Anfang noted that in January of 2007, <br />the City Council authorized staff to work with the Parks and Recreation Commis- <br />sion to establish a volunteer subcommittee to study the Harriet Alexander Nature <br />Center (HANG). Ms. Anfang noted that Richard "Jake" Jacobson, had been ap- <br />pointed by the Commission as the group's facilitator, and that the volunteer sub- <br />committee, the "Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANG) Planning Committee," <br />had been formed to study, analyze, and guide HANG in short and long-term op- <br />portunities and to align HANG with Imagine Roseville 2025 visioning. At this <br />time, Ms. Anfang introduced Mr. Jacobson to present a series of recommenda- <br />tions to the City Council from this study. <br />Richard "Jake" Jacobson <br />There were 18 committee members: Sarah Brodt Lenz; Stacey Dahlstrom; Col- <br />leen Gabor; Amy Ihlan; Jake Jacobson; Monte Johnson; Dorothy Labrash; Julie <br />Larson; Rose Masanz; Marcy McNeal; James McNeal; Sarah McNeal; Gale Pe- <br />derson; Nancy Robbins; Jeff Seifiiz; Jim Stark; Rich Strauman; and Bob Willmus. <br />Mr. Jacobson recognized those committee members attending tonight's meeting <br />and in the audience: Jim, Sarah & Marcy McNeal; Jeff Seifriz; Gale Pederson; <br />and Dorothy Labrash, and thanked them for their exceptional service and noted <br />their specific areas of expertise that they brought to the study. <br />Mr. Jacobson provided a summary of the HANG Planning Committee Report, <br />dated February 21, 2008, and provided in its entirety as a part of the agenda <br />packet materials for tonight's meeting. Mr. Jacobson noted that the first meeting <br />of the group was held in April of 2007, and that the group had met nine times and <br />were charged with addressing and providing recommendation regarding HANC's <br />direction, priorities and finances; with those recommendations presented to the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission at their March 3, 2008 meeting, and now sub- <br />mitted to the City Council. <br />• <br />
