Approve "Welcome to Roseville" Banner Locations
Councilmember Pust questioned whether the City Council had provided input on
the banner content and design.
Public Works Director Duane Schwartz advised that the sample design included
in tonight's packet was for graphic informational purposes only; and that it was
not meant for Council approval of the design or content, just a general depiction
of the Roseville Visitors Association's (RVA) intended design.
• Councilmember Pust opined that she was supportive of the shape and color; but
was concerned with confusion in the community with the RVA logo, and no in-
clusion of the City of Roseville logo, and raised the issue for consideration, even
while recognizing that the RVA was paying for the banners.
City Manager Malinen suggested that the City of Roseville logo be used across
the "Roseville" portion of the banner; with that being supported by Council con-
sensus.
Mr. Schwartz advised that he would pass that suggestion along to the RVA.
Public Comment
John Kysylyczyn, 3083 N Victoria Street
Mr. Kysylyczyn expressed surprise that this item was being approved tonight,
based on his perception that the City Council would have a role in designing the
banners.
Mayor Klausing clarified the requested motion for banner locations, not design.
Mr. Kysylyczyn noted that there was no mention of cost to the City; however,
noted that taxpayers would be paying $1,400 for hardware installation for the
• banners and that nothing had been mentioned in the agenda about an appropria-
tion for that expenditure.
