Ms� Dalens shared personal calculations of proposed cast alloca- <br />tions for the praject; and reviewed designated common property areas. <br />John Shea, 2642 MacKubin Sfreet <br />Mr. Shea opined that the membership had aiready voted and approved the divi- <br />sion of costs; and noted that th� Assaciation was present anly to seek the CiCy <br />Council's support of the HIA; and that the allocation was not longer pertin�nt to <br />the discussion with adoption by the majority of the Secat�d Declaration document. <br />1Vla.yor Klausing clari�zed that the City Council was charg.ed with and obligated ta <br />perfarm due diligence ir� making an assessment, and in using public monies. <br />Norman Peterson, 2678 MacKubin Street <br />Mr. Peterson advised th�t his is� a large unit, and opir�ed that he did �ot have a <br />"porch" a� inc�icated by Ms. 17alens. Mr. P�eterson observed th�t each unit had <br />different features, and each were uniqu�; and asked that the City Council take that <br />into consideration anci approved t�ie ordinance. <br />Tom Lind, 2726 MacKubin <br />Mr. Lind clarified �vhat the Baaz-d hac� attempted in n�alcing fair cost allocations ta <br />a1I uni�s, and noted tl�e common improvement areas for the averall project, includ- <br />ing roofing, divider walls, garages, and commot� areas. Mr. Lind naEed that the <br />original cedar siding had continued to deteriorate and attract rodents, causing fur- <br />ther deterioration; and that the Board's rationale was to alleviate and correct that <br />in the fairest way poss�ibie for a11 xesidents, in addition to rriaking the building <br />more energy efficient. Mr. Lznd opined that the di�'�erence in costs per unit was <br />�ninimal wfien broken down inta the five categori�s far the project. Mr. Lind fur- <br />tlier clarif ed t.hat the purpose of this Public �Iearing was to detertnine if the City <br />was going to loan money far th� project or not� and nated the amount of work <br />campleted to-date by the Bo�-d, and the status of the bids and time constraints, in <br />addition to the original bids having expired in August, and fhe increase in shingle <br />costs. Mr. Lind opined that the longer the approval process was delayEd, the <br />more cast unknawns and inaterial and supply costs would increase. <br />Ron Brand, smaller unit owners, 2710 MaeKub'rn Street <br />Ivir. Brand advised that, while not currently li�ing on site; he and his wife had <br />p�rchased the unit for their retireirient residence. M�: Brand opined that it was vi- <br />tally important tllat this finar�ci�g become avail��le; and �hat a consensus on that <br />�'inaiicial assistance happen �nd the project be cornpleted for the averall benefit of <br />Westwaod Village.
