Thanks to US Figure Skating Championships, Family Matorcoach and the RNC, year- <br />to-date (YTD) through September we were at $52�,173.88 in total tax re�enues which put us <br />$15,984.19 ahead of �ax colle�ctions o�er 2007. Qnce Oc�ober's �ax collectior�s were calculated in, <br />th� mon�hly gro�s of $57,677.94 fell shor� ot the $fi5,86�..64 cal[ected in 2�07 artd dropped �he YTD <br />change o�er 2007 down �a $7,800.49. <br />Based On GOn��rSatiOns Wf�h our hOtel[ers, November occupancies did �ot reach projected bUdgets <br />either. With 7 hotefs reparking in, Novemb�r 200$ was off by E8.24%> o�er Navember 2D07. <br />With that said, we feel Roseville is in a strong position to take advantage flf the recession as we <br />are a�irst tier suburb ofFering high quality accommodations that are mare ecor�omical compared <br />to downtown hofiel raom rates and �arking fees. Rosedale Center continues to be a major draw on <br />i�s own, the Guidant 7ahn Rose MN Ova� pro�ides a high quafity skating facili�jr that attracts worfd <br />class campetitors, our cofleges bring meetings and groups ta town and we can always coUnt on <br />the Minnesota Sfiafie Fair and U of MN Continuing �ducation and Conf�renc� Center for year raund <br />business. �ur location provides convenient access to 'the highway, making it an easy 15 minute <br />comm�te to Minneapolis ar Sai�t Pau� for group or corporate tra�elers. W� are also a great weekend <br />get-away for shopping, dining, ihea�er, spor�s, area attractions and a mer� 20 minute comm�te to <br />Bloomington. <br />UVe are a well known s�o� for Motorcoach groups which is a�oin� in our fa�ar as the market is <br />seeing growth due to t�e gas crunch, high airline fiicKet prices and the current economic crisis. Tour <br />�perators have noticed a surge of passenger� looking to fra�el in mare cast efFec�iue ways. Th� <br />American Bus Association {ABA), through its Foundation research arm, is abaut to release an updated <br />re�art of i�s annuaf s�udy, "Tmpacis of the Matorcoach Industry or� Society and the Economy," which <br />is likely �o suggest an upward trend in bus travel.
