future considering flee vc>ry lo~v density neighborhood and Co Rd 13 dead ending
.vest of Cleveland.
As an active historic preservationist and having redeveloped more then Sla buildings
listed on the National Register of I listorie Places l have the fo1loH~ing observations:
• The Orchard project. would demolish the historic house can the site. Further
information can be found on the Roseville Heritage "trail Map (marker 47) found
an the City ni'Roseti°illt website.
The Stc;ve and Kathy Enrlcr historic house, adjacent. to the Orchard site on the
east, was built in ] 937 and occupied by Harold and Margaret Peterson f'or over 50
years before they sold to the Enzlers. It has Ix:en very well preserved and
maintained. Ferriswood was developed in a manner chat was very sensitive to the
Peterson house ~u~d preserved ils 1cuing and dominance. T}~e Orchard project
would overpower the Pcierson house and destroy part of Roseville's historic
fabric.
For the above reasons I ask you to oppose: the Orel3ard project when it carves before the
Council at your meeting on March 23, 20(19. I further request t1~at you do not approve
changes to the Comp flan or provide for a Pl1D until a proposal has been submitted for
the neighbors io review. I am concerned about giving City staff the authority to negotiate
a plan with the developer and not have input from die neighbors.
'Dank you for your consideration.
7
Gary L Stenson
