1 4.3 Attorney costs associated with public nuisance complaints, which are brought before <br />2 Ramsey County Court, are covered within the Prosecuting City Attorney contract. <br />3 <br />4 5.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />5 51 Staff recommends that City Council remove existing language in the attorney contract <br />( that prohibits the Prosecuting Attorney frorn proceeding with court citation cases <br />7 (written by the Community DevelopmentDepartmentfor land use violations) <br />8 provided that there is first approval by all of the following; the Community <br />9 DevelopmentDirector, the City Attorney, the Prosecuting Attorney and the Codes <br />10 Coordinator. <br />11 <br />12 6.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />13 61 Discuss and provide direction regarding proposed procedural changes that could <br />14 speed the land use enforcement process so it becomes more efficient and effective <br />15 at resolving cases that require either court citation or abatement. <br />16 <br />17 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
