Pamela Bnsch, 2497 Pascal Stree� and member o� Roseville Hu- <br />man R�ghts Commission <br />Ms. Bosch, noted �hat she was a member o� ihe City's Human Rights <br />Commaission, but c�arifxed ihat she was speaking persona�Iy; pro- <br />eeeded to read a written statement regarding recent Pionee� P�ess <br />newspap�r ar�icles rela�ed to a�aff c stop by the Roseville Police De- <br />partment, invoXvernent o�' and alleged obstruction of justice by th� <br />Hu�nan Rights Commissian Chair Janet Delmore, and al�eged racia� <br />profiiing by the City's Po�ice Department. <br />18 Ms. Bosch asked �hat the City Council consider what the City's re- <br />19 sponse may mean to �he City of Roseville; spoke in fervent support of <br />20 the City's Po��ce Depar�ment, and quesiioned percep�ions of racial <br />21 pro�ling by members of the community. Ms. Bosch xecognized the <br />22 need �or City employees to do their job free o� distrac�ions and again <br />23 spok� zn support a� �heir heroism, and expressed apprec'ration for their <br />24 diligence in proteeting citizens; however asked that �ach emp�oyee be <br />25 held to oversight and accoun�abili�y. <br />26 <br />27 Ms. Basch noted that �his was not the first time Ms. Delmore had ex- <br />28 perienced perceived rac�al p�-of �ing ihrou�h hex mentoring relation- <br />29 ship with ihe young man stopped for a vehicle violation. Ms. Bosch, <br />30 however, asked �hat serious consideration be adt�ressed as mapping a <br />31 path for �h� City o� Rcaseville far decades and would portray what <br />32 kind o� a we�coming coxntnunity was indicated. <br />33 <br />34 Ms. Bosch opined that Ms. De�more may have been overz�alous in <br />35 being a citizen-observ�r, and suggesied that the Human Rights Com- <br />�6 mission be given an opportunity to bear wiiness in interactions wi�h <br />37 the Pa�ice Department rather than to take sides, allowing ihe Ci�y o� <br />38 Rosevz��� same scru�iny and an opportunity to determine what eame <br />
