ARTICLE XX JOB POSTING <br />20.1 The EMPLOYER and the UNION agree that permanent job vacancies within the <br />designated bargaining unit shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from within <br />provided that applicants: <br />20.1 � Have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy; and <br />20.12 Have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the j ob vacancy <br />20.2 Employees filling a higher job class based on the provisions of this Article shall be <br />subject to the conditions of ARTICLE XVIII (PROBATIONARY PERIOD). <br />203 The�EMPLOYER has the right of final decision in the selection of employees to fill <br />posted jobs based on qualifications, abilities and experience. <br />20.4 Job vacancies within the designated bargaining unit will be posted for five (5) working <br />days so that members of the bargaining unit can be considered for such vacancies. <br />ARTICLE XXI INSURANCE <br />21.1 Effective January 1, 2003, the EMPLOYER wi1� contribute an amount equal to that <br />being received by non-unionized clerical, technical, professional and managerial <br />employees for employees and their dependents for health insurance, life insurance, and <br />disability insurance. <br />21.2 Additional life insurance can be purchased by employees at the employee's <br />expense to the extent allowed under the EMPLOYER'S group policy. <br />21.3 Individual employees may provide for insurance premiums over the amount of the <br />EMPLOYER contribution stipulated by 21.1 by applying before tax income to satisfy the <br />premium for the additional health, life, and dental insurance costs, including dependent <br />coverage. <br />21.4 Employees not choosing healthcare coverage shall receive Two I-Iundred and Eighty Four <br />Dollars ($284.00) per month effective 1/1/2005, and may apply these dollars to another <br />benefit such as dental, or to taxable cash. The City does require proof of other health <br />insurance coverage if health insurance is waived and cash back is opted. <br />ARTICLE XXII SICK LEAVE <br />22.1 The EMPLOYER grants sick leave to members of the bargaining unit who are full-time <br />regular employees eight (8) hours sick leave per month. Sick leave will accrue to the <br />employee, but may not be used during the employee's probationary period. <br />� <br />
