Mr. Reiling further specifically noted his concern with
the location of the drive-thru "next to" a residential neighborhood and a
child care center. Mr. Reiling extensively detailed his personal traffic study,
using discussions with the Starbuck's site manager, Mr. John Stone, at the
existing store (north of Highway 3 f), informal conversations with on-site
shift workers at that facility, and their estimated and some documented traf-
fic counts during peak hours and various shifts. Ms.
Reiling commended Mayor Klausing on his recent actions and initiatives
recognizing global warming issues; and opined that rejecting this applica-
tion, and the significant local action represented, would be a great first step
in reducing global warming impacts.
Applicant Representative, Joe Samuel, RLK
Mr. Samuel, the engineer representing the applicant, clarified the traffic vol-
umes projected and average volumes and referenced correspondence be-
tween the engineers and staff, along with the City's traffic engineers.
