Regular City Council Meeting
DRAFT Minutes of Monday, Apri109,2007
Page 9
l with the community's visioning statement for the future of Roseville,
with 15 goals identified for the City to attain and strategies to meet
: those goals. Mr. 1Valinn advised that staff will publicize findings of
the report through various media and was looking into other potential
marketing strategies for public awareness and their continued input.

Mr. Vlalinen noted that staff would be working over the next 90-days
3 on the day-to-day process for implementation of the goals for City
Council consideration and review, by identifying specific departments
1 and potential costs to further the community's vision over the next
  few decades.

7 ;

]
i
i
18
1

7

1

:
34
:
:

3
Mayor Klausing concurred with City Manager Malinen's previous
suggestion that staff look at and develop implementation strategies
and attach costs of those initiatives for presentation to the City Coun-
cil for their policy discussions, approaches, and prioritization.
Councilmember Pust concurred; but also opined that in addition to
that action, the City Council and staff needed to dermine how to
keep the citizen involvement continuing on an ongoing basis; and re-
quested additional discussion at a future Study Session on how to
keep the citizens involved. Councilmember Pust advised tat she
would put together some possible ideas before that meeting. Coun-
cilmember Pust further noted the need to keep t.e visioning process
report in ron of the community on a regular basis, such as through
presentation to community organizations; and questioned if there was
a specific staff person that would serve to coordinate such presenta-
tion opportunities azd/or materials.
City Manager Malinen advised that Department Heads had gone
through the goals and strategies, and identified the potentiallead de-
partment; and that the City's Communication staff (Carolyn Cui and
Tim Pratt) were already pursuing ways to convey the information and
keep the momentum going. Mr. alirn used, as an example, the in-
corporation of photos and graphics wt1 the report on the webste to
make itznore attractive; and were discussing a potential tri-fold pam-
phlet for City Council review and consideration, along with similar
ideas from the Vista 2000 report; along with talking points or bullets
