John went around the room and asked those in attendance to state whether or not they were <br />supportive of instituting multiple residential zoning districts in Roseville. Currentl not in favor of lar e lots. <br />Amy* Wants more council and community input on subdivisions than zones <br />would ermit. <br />*Not an Advisory Group member. <br />During this discussion, a number of issues surrounding neighborhood character were brought up by <br />members of the group. Gary presented the Advisory Group with a draft document that he prepared <br />discussion neighborhood character. (This document is attached to this Meeting Summary.) When <br />the group was asked if they support a recommendation to the City Council to further study the issue <br />of neighborhood character, a majority of the group was unsupportive of this recommendation. <br />John asked the group if there were types of zoning districts the group could identify as those they <br />definitely, possibly, or under no conditions want to see as recommendations. Those that the <br />group generally identified as "definitely" included the "standard R-1" (requirements directed by <br />the current R-1 zone) and a Shoreland District. <br />The Advisory Group asked that staff do additional research on legal requirements surrounding <br />the pre-19591ots that are currently legal, non-conforming lots and those post-1959 non- <br />conforming lots that are smaller than current standards allow. <br />Additional topics that were covered within the multiple zoning district conversation included lot <br />recombination and house design standards. Members of the group did not support prohibiting lot <br />recombination. However, the group had a split opinion with several members feeling strongly for <br />and several members feeling strongly against creating housing design standards <br />April 92 Meeting Summary Page 2 of 2 <br />
