Single-Family Residential Lot Split Study
Survey Results
3318urdce Avenue W.
Number of Survey Sent 53
Number of Surveys Received: 20
Response Rate: 38%
1. Did you live at your existing home when the single-family residential lot(s) at 331 Burke Avenue W.
was (were) subdivided?
85% Yes 15% No (Did not need to complete the remainder of the survey.)
2. Were you initially supportive, in opposition to, or indifferent to the subdivision of this lot?
29% Supportive 6% Opposed 65% Indifferent
Whv?
Fit/Context of Neighborhood
■ Personally, I would not want to live in either house. I understand it works for them because they re related. But I
wouldn't buy a house like that. What will happen if either family wants to move?
■ The average lot in Roseville is already minimal size. Although this was a double lot (in length), the house was
constructed very near my property line. Subdivide by width not length if you must.
Habitat/Open Space/Trees
■ Generally indifferent but I do not know why something has to be built on every square foot of land - open space is
still desiable.
Property Rights
■ Let people do their thing. Putting your retirement home in your backyard is kind of weird.
Property Values
■ Concern about resale ability of flag lot.
Other
■ If those closest did not care I should not be opposed.
■ Didn't know that much about it.
■ We weren't asked about it.
■ Because we know the family.
■ Good neighbor.
■ We were not informed of the split.
3. Have you noticed any nositive neighborhood impacts since the subdivision of this lot?
18% Yes 82% No
If ves. what?
Aesthetics
■ House looks better than the lot that was there.
■ Everyone says it looks like a park now and 1VIrs. Bucher really enjoyed the landscape till she moved. The property is
much improved, and very enjoyable to have.
Families/Schools
■ One more family in neighborhood.
Ura1 1 of 3
