Acquired and developed : <br />■ Owasso Hills Park <br />■ Pioneer Park <br />■ Lexington Park <br />• Reservoir Woods. <br />■ Applewood Park <br />• Applewood Overlook <br />■ Memorial Park <br />o Add leisure amenities such as sand volleyball, bocce ball courts, tennis courts, outdoor <br />basketball courts, and wading/spray pools. Added : <br />• 8 Sand Volleyball Courts <br />• two bocce ball courts <br />• four outdoor basketball <br />• reconstructed 12 tennis courts <br />■ Have included in the Lexington Park master plan a spray ground area design. <br />• Enhanced four Bocce Ball Courts <br />o Develop legal agreements with other public agencies within the community for the rights <br />to acquire excess public land or facilities, thus retaining them for community use. <br />• Purchase of Reservoir Woods Park. <br />Agreement with Roseville School District for use of open space. <br />Agreement with the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center <br />Acquire and maintain new open space throughout the City as land is redeveloped, with a <br />balanced mix of housing units to provide a more attractive community for new families. <br />■ Pioneer Park <br />■ Owasso Hills Park <br />■ Applewood Park <br />• Applewood Overlook <br />■ Memorial Park <br />and the surrounding trail system <br />Develop specialized facilities such as batting practice area with pitching machines, bicycle <br />and paddle boat rental services, golf driving range, putting green, and a water park, thus <br />providing exciting, safe, enjoyable leisure experiences, as well as producing revenues <br />sufficient to cover the expense of these facilities and for other less revenue producing <br />facilities and activities. <br />• Constructed seven batting cages- funded by outside groups and organizations. <br />■ Have worked on feasibility studies for additional golf facilities. <br />• Studied water park feasibility and have created plans for potentials. <br />■ Adopted Ladyslipper Park Master Plan <br />Upgrade landscaping in parks including greenery, reforestation, flowers, and land form <br />features such as berming, rocks, and landscape walls. This will provide more aesthetically <br />attractive and enhanced leisure areas. Expand the scope and involvement of residents in <br />planting of flowers and reuse of plant cuttings. Ongoing <br />• Arboretum initiation and development <br />■ Landscaping, decorative rocking on Lexington avenue `Blooming Boulevards" <br />■ Initiated adopt a park program that includes flower planting in all parks. <br />■ Landscaping and edging done in numerous parks <br />• Addition of new park identification signage with flowers planted near and around. <br />■ Waterfall in Central Park <br />■ Substantial new seating areas in Central Park <br />■ Acquired three grants that allowed planting of apprx. 200 Blvd. Trees. <br />Vista 2000 Report Page 8 of 24 <br />
