o Railroad lines now in existence should be kept and more fully utilized if possible. If there
is rail line abandonment in Roseville, some government agency should acquire the land for
public purposes. Roseville should ensure safety at all highway and pedestrian crossings.
o Emergency vehicles should be strategically located throughout our community. Emergency
vehicle routes should be established and marked, and Opticom (or equal equipment) should
be considered.
o Light rail planning should receive input from Roseville. Roseville should preserve
potential rights-of-way and station locations, and identify possible routes for tributary bus
service. (in progress with N. E. Diagonal Line)
o The RTB and MTC should make greater use of surveys among present and potential transit
riders when planning changes in suburban bus and van service.
o The RTB and MTC should provide transit schedules and promotional material to homes
and businesses by mail and newspaper delivery.
o An integrated, comprehensive motorized and non-motorized transportation plan map for
Roseville should be prepared.
Appoint a standing Advisory Commission consisting of two representatives from each of the Vista
2000 Study Groups to advise of future issues presented by the Vista 2000 process.
Vista 2000 Report Page 21 of 24
