Counc��member Maschka noted �he previous process, the time required, and exhaustzve �esearch and time commitmen�s by those involved participants. Councilmember Kough spoke in support of the Comprehensive Plan and needed upda�e; bu� �poke against hiring oi outside consultan�s without przor City Councz� authoxity. Councilznember Pus� apined �hat, given dif�erent subject areas, there was not enough s�aff and/or Planning Com�n�sszone�s to provide the needed commitments without outsida as�istance and �aeilitation. Councilmember N�aschka noted that outszde �acz�i�atzon was used dur�ng the previaus prncess for V ista Z000, Mr. Caarl Neu. Councilmember Pust fur�h�ar opined thai, while she wasn't inte�ested in "wasting one dime" of pub�ic monies, this was an investmen� in the communzty and needed to be done and to be done wel�. Councilmember Pust noted that sta�f already had a huge role �o play; and they d�dn't have t�me �or the add�iional requz�ements o� this compreh�nsive study without outside assistance. Councilmembex Pust exp�e�sed strong suppo� for moving forward wi�h this znode� as quick�y as possible, wi�houi wazting �o�r ihe C�ty Councii's goal setting, allowing for input to th� structure at a�a�ear date.
