Councilmember Maschka no�ed the success of Vista 2000, noting that "the frst half of crea�ion i,s just wariting something down." Councilmember Maschka advocated Alternative 1; opining that it was no� inexpensive, but that "you got what you pa�d �'or." Mayox Klausing noted the process involved comment from a number of people noi nozmally �nvolved, and clarified that he sought Council consensus fo�r A�tezmative �, w�th xev�sians to the Compreh�nsive Plan a part of that process. Councilm�mber Kough spoke to the need �o accomplish fiha� pz�ocess on a Boaxd and staff level prior to hiring an ou�side eonsultant. lV�s. Bak�man noted that an outsxde consu�tant p�rovided st�aetu�e for discussion in the context of Iegalities and differen� �evels o� go�ernment involved; and kept discussions on the right path io provide a eorrect structure. Ms. Bakeman fi.��ther noted th�� here was an ent��re new sta��', and many new Cammissioners and Councilmembers since the Vis�a 2000 proeess.
