POLECY OBJECTIVE <br />. The City previously made a substantial in�estment that n�eds to be <br />protected and enhanced. <br />• PIP monies will be spent ta redevelop present park facilifiies rather t�an <br />construct entire�y new projects. <br />• Projects will be recommended by staff, reviewed and referred by the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission and adopted by �he City CounciE. <br />• Addifional funding may be used from participating groups ta enhance the <br />project. <br />• Reg�lar ongoing maintenance wi[I continue to address these problems <br />that ar� nat a part of the adop�ed curren# PIP projecfis to insure completely <br />safe facilities. <br />The PIP pragram was initially funded in 1991 at a level of $250,040 until 2004 <br />when it was reduced ta $218,Q00, $150,000 in 2005 and $150,000 ir� 2006. <br />FWANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />$�50,000 has b�en appro�ed in the 2006 City Budgefi for implemenfatian of ihe <br />PEP. <br />STAFF REC4MMENDATIQN <br />Based ort the completior� and analysis af the PIP evaluation proeess ar�d the <br />unanimous recommendation of the Parks and Recrea�ion Cammission, staff <br />recommends #hat the Council approve t�e following prajects totaling $150,Q00: <br />ITEM <br />Park Signs <br />Playgraund Equipment {Sandcastle Park} <br />Playground Equipment {Autumr� Gro�e Park) <br />Tennis Cour� Reconstruct Incl.
