Proposal included (per Reso <br />8419) acquisition and betterment o# a community and cultural center, ice arena <br />addition, acquisition of park land and betterment of park land by construction of <br />trails, ponding areas, and outdoor recreation improvements to the city's park <br />properties" and was anticipated to cost $8,372,000.00. Failed by a vote of 1049 <br />in favor to 4951 against on 5/2/89. <br />1��: City of Roseville Residential Survey of 403 Residents wherein sixty-three <br />percent favored the idea of a Community Center, twenty-four percent opposed it, <br />and thirteen percent were unsure. <br />7���: VISTA 2000 Leisure Panel recommends Community Center, <br />��+��; The Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL was constructed with the <br />potential plans for a second (banquetlmeeting rooms) and third phases <br />(replacement of the RAC). <br />'[994: City of Roseville adopted its Comprehensive Plan with an implementation <br />strategy to create a master plan for a City Center to be located generally around <br />the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Co. Rd. C. <br />'[994: Recreation Infrastructure Committee studied issues relating to <br />improvements in Parks and Recreation facilities based on the direction from <br />VISTA 2000, and recommended that a planning committee be established to <br />lead to the building of a Community Center. The committee recommended <br />against any significant expenditures to repair the Activity Center in the former <br />Ralph Reeder Elementary School at Arona and Lydia due to the location and <br />deterioration of the Center. <br />199$; Community survey identifies Community Center as an amenity desired by <br />65% of respondents. <br />1998; Roseville City Council created a citizen task force to define the City <br />— Center concept, identify the community needs, and make specific <br />_ recommendations to the City Council. <br />1���: City Center Committee studied issues relating to the land use of the City <br />Center complex, and recommended that space should be used for government <br />services, community space, and recreation. <br />
