City Council Study Session— 04/17/06 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 9 <br />pathway issues. <br />Mayor Klausing directed staff to provide meeting <br />information regarding the "Active Living Ramsey County" <br />to Councilmembers in the next Council packet. <br />Councilmember Pust noted that pathway discussions and <br />safety issues would be included in the new community <br />visioning process, replicating the Vista 2000, to determine <br />gaps in pathways and current priorities, and opined that this <br />should provide a fresher view of the community's greatest <br />priorities. <br />5.d Questions from Councilmernber Ihlan about the New <br />Council Agenda Policy <br />Councilmember Ihlan requested that the new "Notice of <br />Future Agenda Items" sectien s f Council agendas be <br />expanded to include staff-generated agenda items as well to <br />provide Councilmembers of upcoming items. <br />Councilmember Ihlan questioned whether it was necessary <br />for staff to provide responses to Councilmember Agenda <br />items without receiving direction to do so from the <br />Council. <br />Councilmember Kough expressed concern regarding staff <br />and/or other Councilmembers responding to citizen <br />concerns raised by individual Councilmembers, prior to the <br />Council meeting. <br />Mayor Klausing respectfully reserved the right to respond <br />to residents as he saw fit. <br />Councilmember Pust opined that she appreciated staffs <br />input to assist in providing a history on the issue, allowing <br />her to make more efficient use of her time. <br />Mayor Klausing, as maker of the initial motion, noted that <br />it was his intent to help staff and the City Council control <br />the workload by providing sufficient notice and <br />information needed for various issues. Mayor Klausing <br />noted that individual staff inembers didn't add items to <br />Councilmernber <br />Ihlan <br />New Council <br />Agenda Pol'aey <br />
