REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
DATE: 7110106
ITEM . ,i ,
DepartmentApproval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section:

- r
_

Item Description: Final Acceptaalce of the Public Improvezents constructed as Outlined in the
Public Improvement Contract for STONECREST
Background: In March, 2003, construction began on the placement of grading, utilities, curb
and gutter and streets for STONECREST. The area is located between Fulham Street and Marion
Road, north of County Road B. The owner of the property, Masterpiece Homes, was under
contract with F.M. Frattalone, Excavating and Grading, Inc. to perform the grading, utilities and
streets. The work was completed in July 2005 and the final documents were recieved in May
2006. The owner and the contractor have agreed about final payment and the owner is now
requesting that the City Council accept the utilities, curb and gutter and streets for maintenance
purposes.
Policy objectives: City Policy requires the following steps be completed to finalize the
construction project:
X Certification from the civil engineer in charge of the proj ect verifying that all work has been
completed in accordance with the City of Roseville's plans and specifications.
X A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the one-year warranty
period
Financial implications: The work performed on this site was by a private developer without any
direct cost to the City. The developer, Masterpiece Homes, is responsible for any payments for
work completed by subcontractors.
Staff recommendation: All necessary items have been completed in accordance with project
plans and specifications. Since all items have been completed as outlined in the policy regarding
final project acceptance, staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution accepting the
utilities, streets, and curb and gutter as constructed in STONECREST.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Adopt a resolution acceptingthe public improvements constructed as outlined in the public
improvement contract for STONECREST.
Prepared by: Debra Bloom
