City Council Study Session — 07/17/06 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 13 <br />people in the City of Roseville over the next year on how to use <br />an AED and how to perform CPR through mass training at <br />various locations throughout the City. Mr. Snyder advised that it <br />was hoped to raise $43,500 for the purchase of the new AE�?'s. <br />Mayor Klausing encouraged citizens to seek opportunities to get <br />involved and participate in training or fundraising. <br />Dr. Lick advised the purpose of the Initiative was to partner with <br />communities through using the City's resources with press <br />releases and community presentations and as a clearing house for <br />fundraising; and to spread the word to various organizations and <br />community foundations. <br />Fire Chief Gasaway said the Initiative was seeking City Council <br />approval and declaration of Roseville as a Heart-Safe <br />Community; with the City Council's permission to participate in <br />fundraising with Allina's participation. <br />Mayor Kla�ing directed staff to include the request on a future <br />City Council Consent Agenda; pending City Attorney review of <br />the structuring for acceptance of gifs and donations and use of <br />public funds as applicable and according to State Statute and <br />City Code. Dr. Lick advised that All�na would be happy to serve <br />as the funding vehicle for the findraising Initiative. <br />5. Update on Community Visioning Process <br />Consultant Anne Carroll and several members of the Visioning <br />Steering Committee: Ann Berry, Steve Buxwell and Lisa <br />Edstrom were present to update the public and City Council on <br />the "Imagine Roseville 2025 - Steering Committee Update to the <br />Public - dated July 17, 2006," distributed as a Bench Handout <br />(attached). <br />Ms. Carroll provided an overview of the visioning process, goals <br />achieved, and accomplishments to-date. <br />The presentation and interactive discussion included the Council <br />launched in May; goals for an inclusive and transparent process; <br />appointment of the Steering Committee to oversee the process; <br />content studied by the Steering Committee; Brainstorming <br />Update on <br />Community <br />Visioning Process <br />
