City Council Study Session— 07/17/06 <br />DRAFT` Minutes - Page 14 <br />Sessions; Subcommittee Members; Subcommittee Kick-off <br />meeting; Steering Committee expectations of Subcommittees; <br />pictures of Brainstorming Sessions; results of �un and thought- <br />provoking conversations; and Finance Director Chris Miller's <br />hosting of the Subcommittee meetings, on behalf of City <br />Manager Neal Beets. <br />Further discussion included identification of the subcommittee <br />and their charges; community discourse; and revised <br />Subcommittee members and first meeting information, current to <br />July 17,2006. <br />Ms. Carroll advised that the balance adjustments had been made <br />to provide continuity; and further advised that the Steering <br />Committee would finish making their appointments to the <br />Subcommittees by weeks end; and finalize those listed on <br />tonight's bench handout, as well as following up with a few <br />people with whom some application and/or deadline errors may <br />have been made. <br />Ms. Carroll further reviewed the intent of the Subcommittee <br />Kick-off ineetings to provide general information, organizational <br />expertise and a general exchange of information; review <br />responsibilities and expectations; receive background data and <br />reference information on various issues; establish group norms; <br />select co-chairs to facilitate meetings; and arrange for each <br />specific group's first meetings. Ms. Carroll noted the upcoming <br />public input meetings (minimum of two) and the postings on the <br />Roseville Issues Forum webs�te. <br />Discussion included the residency of those serving on the <br />Subcommittees; involvement of additional focus groups (i.e., <br />youth, Roseville business owners and the business community, <br />and non-English speakers) and others to bring all voices into the <br />process; creation and categories for Subcommittee topics and <br />discussions; the application and Subcommittee appointment <br />process; and how best to ensure the public can track their areas <br />of interest in an easy format. <br />6.
