Ensure that different types of <br />residential uses are well integrated with one <br />another and with parks, schools, commercial <br />districts and community spaces in those areas. <br />Leisure Opportunities <br />Maintain and upgrade parks, open spaces, athletic <br />fields and other amenities; construct a Rosevzlle <br />Community Center; expand and improve a system <br />of non-motorized pathways and trails; continue to <br />provide facilities that meet the needs and expecta- <br />tions of the entire community; and cooperate with <br />other agencies and governmental units to maxi- <br />mize leisure facilities and activities. <br />Community Public Safety <br />Teach crime prevention strategies through Neigh- <br />borhood Watch programs; continue strong police <br />presence in neighborhoods to remove the opportu- <br />nity for crime; maintain and improve the ability of <br />the City to respond to civil, natural and medical <br />emergencies; and improve traffic safety through <br />thoughtful construction and new technologies and <br />procedures. <br />Community Transportation <br />I��r the integrated community plan up-to-date <br />for all modes of transportation; correct congestion <br />problems in high-traffic areas; establish an exten- <br />sive network of non-motorized pathways linl�ing <br />neighborhoods, parks, schools and commercial <br />areas; assure that all road crossings and intersec- <br />tions are properly marked, signalized and lighted <br />in accordance with reasonable safety standards; <br />worl� to further develop the community mass <br />transit services; and work closely with state, <br />county and local citizens to rnal�e major highways <br />safer and more efficient. <br />
