City Council Regular Meeting — 04/11/OS
DRAFT Minutes' Page 16
Minnesota, Inc., A Non-Exclusive Right to Locate and Maintain
Transit Stop Shelters in the City of Roseville."
Councilmember Ihlan questioned whether the list of locations
(Exhibit C) would be adopted as part of the resolution, or would
be determined at a later date.
Mr. Schwartz advised that the Exhibit would be adopted as part
of the resolution; the Council would be approving the list of
locations, understanding that all of the locations would not be
utilized, for example, if a bus route were eliminated or service
reduced.
Councilmember Schroeder questioned whether, at transit sites no
longer in use by a route, if the bus benches, as well as the
shelters would be removed.
Mr. Schwartz responded affirmatively, in accordance with City
ordinance.
Councilmember Schroeder opined that the `ranstop Shelters
were a good product and would be worthwhile for the
community; and he spoke in support of the motion.
Councilmember Schroeder spoke in opposition to any deviation
from the original ordinance (i.e. increase in snow removal
allowance time) given other City ordinances related to snow
removal requirements for business owners.
Councilmember Ihlan concurred with Councilmember
Schroeder's comments related to maintaining the original
language of the ordinance, deferring to staff recommendations
and the scope of the ordinance. Councilmember Ihlan noted that,
if problems arose and adjustments were needed, the Council
would be willing to reconsider specific items related to
operational needs.
Councilmember Kough spoke in support of a 12 hour snow
removal clause.
Roll Call
Ayes: Ihlan, Maschka, Schroeder, Kough and Klausing.
Nays: None.
