Assessment of Need <br />Roseville is conveniently located between �i. Paul and Minneapolis. Roseville residents have easy access <br />to a myriad of arts activities. �'�azs is a great asset to Roseville residei�ts yet, at the same tiine, a hindrance <br />to the community due to a tendency for the ti7-�s to be stifled because of its proximity to these n�ajox <br />metropolitan cities. <br />Roseville aits participants and audiences have demonstrated a desire for expanded oppoitunities, aaave <br />exhibited a strong interest in varied a��ts experiences and have made a commitment to supporting <br />community arts experiences. Recent growth of the Roseville area arts corr�mu��ity demonstrates <br />considerable interest and a noteworthy level of involvementby Roseville residents who are willing to <br />pursue arts experiences closer to l�azne. <br />Community surveys have identified a need for residents to have the opportunity to connect with the arts. <br />. Roseville's fastest gowi�g segment of the population is mature ad��ts and retired reside��s. Z�� many <br />cases, t�aese folks quickly become isolated �rarr� the community without appropriate opportunities for <br />involvement - the arts are the ideal vehicle to enable area seniors to remain connected, engaged and <br />involved. <br />Roseville's citizenry is changing and becoming a population with expanding cultural diversity. l�,.t <br />times, these residents st�-uggle to be connected with their new community — the arts az-e a wonderful <br />means for individuals to sharc their etlmicity wl�ile others are introduced to new cultural arts. <br />Families seek opportunities to participate together - intergenerational art experiences suppoi-t a healthy <br />balance be€-�veei� the yo��g and old, the now and then, the traditional azad the exp���ential. <br />The original Rose of Many Colors Arts Series and RMC I I provided arts oppo�-tunities for our <br />community at large and they responded. Community arts leaders and organizing team i�enak�ers are <br />confident that Roseville is a community that �ppreciates the arts, responds to the az1� and supports the <br />aits. The Rose af Mai�y Colors II�Arts Series will maintain, sustain and enhance the positive arts <br />outcomes established by RMC &�C��, Financial support, thanks to the Special �ztaaiives Grant .�nt] <br />the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, will enable Roseville residents and cominunity guests to take <br />part in RNICI.II and experience arts opportunities tl�at focus on ethnic exposure, fainily involvement and <br />coininuiuty connections. <br />Thanks to KMC and RMC ��, local arts leaders have stepped up and taken on increasing respo�si�ili�-y to <br />enable local coi�nunity arts experiences. 1�1VIC III will continue to recruit community members to sen'� <br />on the organizing team, we will ask local arts leaders to serve as liaisons to program arts providers, and <br />we will ezaeourage and support local artists. <br />Long Term, Significant Benefits <br />The long term and significa��t benefits of�Zase d Mar�y ColorsTll are supported by previous RMC <br />outcomes za�eludii�g increased cozr�z�nul�ity involvement, enhanced cultural awareness and supported <br />intergenerational expe�iences. <br />Rose of Marzy Colors III will brizl�; visibility to the viability of cozn���uni#y aits initiatives. Recognition <br />by local govei��ing bodies, access to public spaces and cooperative support among community service <br />providers are the most valuable contributions a municipality can �a�a�e to the arts. <br />�G �.1.� will foster a climate of artistic freedom of artistic f��eedo7n and continue to build titi:: a strong arts <br />foundation established by early community aits enthusiasts, the Roseville Area Arts Council and the first <br />two Rose of Many Colors Arts Series. <br />
