REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION
DATE: 08/22/OS
ITEM NO: 3.f
7t.r'.f1Y`r_t :nrrr :l ['i. ],in.7,-c•= .S,Erct;l. .i,•t.l. tri,:i7
'T,C , ,..' {:x F.Tf',
—
Item Description: Request by Monarch Bus Service, Inc. for Council approval to install a 4,000
gallon above ground fuel tanlc at 1743 County Road C(PF3675}.
1_0 REQUESTED ACTION:
I I Monarch Bus Service, Inc. seeks City Council approval to install a 4,000 gallon fuel tank
at the rear of the site, located at 1743 County Road C–property formerly used by
numerous auto and truck related tenants, and next door to the ,aidlaw, Metro Transit, and
Medicene Lake Lines that operated in the past. It is not easily seen from County Road C.
1. In 1993 the Roseville City Code was amended to allow the City Council to consider
— requests for the installation of above ground fuel tanks in non-residentially zoned areas
outside the area bound by Cleveland Avenue, Highway 36, the northern City Limits and
the western City Limits.
.fl STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
? 5 The Community Development Department recommends that the request by Monarch Bus
Service be approved with conditions. This is in an area where previous bus operations
have been located. The above ground tanks (while visually utilitarian) have a much better
history of spill and leak protection than buried tanks, and can be removed much easier.
-U SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
l BY MOTION, APPROVE the request by Monarch Bus Service to install a 4,000 gallon
above ground fuel tank at 1743 County Road C, subject to conditions. (Please see Section
5 and 6 for detailed recommendations).
]'F _ R£'A' 8 • Page 1 of 2
