Consider Approving the Design and Funding for the City's <br />Health, Dental, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance <br />Programs; and Consider Approving the Criteria and <br />Funding for a Revised City Pay Plan <br />Human Resources Manager pona Bacon summarized the request <br />as presented at the City Council Study Session on October 17, <br />2005. <br />Discussion included the 3.1 % IVledica coverage cost increase; <br />proposal to not fully fund an increase in the 100% coverage <br />option for employee health insurance; wellness-oriented options <br />chosen by employees and encouraged by the City; loss ratio of <br />the 100% plan option; and union interpretation of benefit <br />provision proposals. <br />Councilmember Ihlan expressed her concern that the City <br />appeared to be retreating from traditional individual coverage <br />being fully funded; opining her commitment to maintain health <br />benefits for staff. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that the purpose of <br />Resolution 10348 <br />Health, Dental, <br />Long-Term <br />Disability, and Life <br />Insurance <br />Programs; and <br />Revised City Pay <br />Plan <br />
