Market the value of buying within Roseville and identify the <br />tradeoffs of living within a fi rst ring suburb. An example may be <br />that you may not get a large house with a large yard but you will get <br />an established neighborhood, mature trees and a shorter commute. <br />All this provides cost savings and more quality time with families. <br />2. Policy Statement: Achieve a balance between families with school-aged children <br />and seniors in multifamily housing and the appropriate distribution of acceptable <br />units compatible with each unique lifestyle. <br />Possible Action Steps: - evaluated annually for implementation within budget <br />resources <br />Develop a program to support the addition of playground equipment <br />in densely populated apartment complex areas. <br />ii. Encourage renovation that combines units to increase bedroom size. <br />iii_ Work more closely with the two school districts on annual school <br />enrollment estimates for better planning to know how many children <br />are coming into the school districts. <br />iv. Provide access to resources to encourage renters to stay within the <br />community (either as a renter or owner) so there is stability for <br />people with young families with children. <br />3. Policy Statement: All types of Multifamily Housing are important to the community <br />and need to be preserved with a full spectrum of multifamily maintenance programs <br />to increase the value, quality and livability of the multifamily housing stock. <br />Possible Action Steps: - evaluated annually for implementation within budgef <br />resources <br />i. Explore how other communities and Hi�As have implemented a <br />Housing Maintenance Code and Rental Licensing Program, to be <br />considered as part of the 2006 Budget cycle. <br />ii. Identify more thoroughly the multi family complexes with deferred <br />.�._ , maintenance issues and where renovation permits have not been <br />issues in over 10 years.
