� � C. RESIDENTIAL GQALS: <br />1. Achieve a flexible balance of different types of housing alternatives (choice) that <br />will meet the life cycle needs of residents. Through careful use of the little <br />remaining land in Roseville, identify and maintain the existing balance (or at least <br />same percentage) of residential land use acreage throughout the community. <br />Encourage maintenance of existing housing and property. Upgrade current homes <br />and properiy to meet "move up" housing needs. Consistently upgrade residential <br />amenities, infrastructure, and other necessities to maintain and improve property <br />values. t � <br />�� D. RESIDENTIAL POLICIES: <br />Adopt flexible standards for new single and multiple family housing <br />developments to allow for innovative development and more efficient densities. <br />It is not the goal of the City to significantly increase overall residential densities. <br />�� Encourage innovative high quality planning and design in residential <br />developments that cater to the life stylellife cycle of present and future <br />residents. High quality developments may include such improvements as <br />masonry exteriors, higher window and wall insulation packages, <br />undergroundparking, more useable open space, than normally required, <br />porches, landscaping, and amenity packages within each unit. <br />6. To protect the i�t���t}t �f aat housing areas, require strict adherence t�,�al� <br />��ri-r�,3r�e� �j�,��,:..• : ; <br />a� Undertake appropriate actions to ensure the safety and security of <br />residents in their neighborhoods. <br />b� Maintain the quality of existing residential areas through comprehensive <br />enforcement of all codes. <br />�� Adopt appropriate ordinances to ensure properiy is maintained in order to <br />prevent deterioration of residential neighborhoods. <br />d� Where higher intensity uses are located adj acent to existing residential <br />neighborhoods, create effective land use buffers and physical screening. <br />e� Consider ordinances (including setbacks) to allow for easier expansion or <br />upgrade of existing residences.
