City Council Regular Meeting — 07/12/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 5 <br />Councilmember Ihlan opined that the multi-source form for <br />lower level employees appeared to be too general, and <br />expressed her preference for a form similar to that to be used by <br />the City Council. Councilmember Ihlan also sought <br />clarification as to applicable standards, and whether a job <br />description was available to apply appropriate standards. <br />City Manager Beets advised that a job description dated <br />200012001 was the most recent document; and had not been <br />revised since that time. <br />Mayor Klausing requested that the City Manager's Assistant <br />Margaret Driscoll provide a copy of the City Manager job <br />description to Councilmembers and the City Attorney prior to <br />distribution of the sample forms. <br />City Attorney Anderson recommended that all three evaluation <br />forms, as well as the City Manager's job description be scanned <br />into the computer to allow oral changes to be made and a new <br />form prepared more efficiently once that input has been <br />provided. <br />Councilmembers concurred and City Manager Beets was so <br />directed to have staff perform this task. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding the level of specificity in <br />the employee evaluation categories, using "yes" and "no" <br />responses, rather than a numerical ranking from "1" to "5" to <br />maintain continuity with City Council evaluation comments. <br />Mayor Klausing suggested that each Councilmember review the <br />sample forms and provide input at the next meeting. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that the multi-source form was <br />less cumbersome, and suggested responses would be more <br />efficiently provided by keeping the format as uncomplicated as <br />possible. <br />City Attorney Anderson concurred that the multi-source form, <br />
