City Council Regular Meeting — 07/12/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 31 <br />Mr. Kotecki concluded by quoting comments reportedly made <br />by Mr. Shardlow from an article dated March 3, 2003 in the <br />Minneapolis Sta� T�ibune newspaper related to the Twin Lakes <br />project; and questioned whether the proposed plan and <br />developer served in the best interests of the City. <br />Sean Regan, property owner within Twin Lakes <br />Mr. Regan opined his enthusiastic support of Mr. Shardlow's <br />facilitation of the panel meetings, and the process itself. Mr. <br />Regan noted that not all issues received consensus, but <br />information was provided and panel comments were heard. Mr. <br />Regan opined that the original AURA and Comprehensive Plan <br />developed in the early 1990's made sense at that time. Mr. <br />Regan further opined that the developer's plan for their private <br />land was responsive to the City's interests, and the development <br />team was a good choice, were fair, responsive and capable. <br />Larry Sullivan, resident east of Fairview, east of Lydia <br />Mr. Sullivan expressed his appreciation to the Council and his <br />honor in serving on the panel, and noted his perspective from an <br />engineer in the petroleum industry, and encouraged the City and <br />the community to consider the regional impacts, particularly <br />related to traffic, of this redevelopment. <br />Karen Milton, east of Langton Lake resident <br />Ms. Milton expressed her concern with other large <br />developments, extreme traffic concerns, retail saturation, and <br />taxpayer subsidies, questioning the developer's profit margin <br />and risk level compared to that being sought from the <br />community and taxpayers. <br />Beth Robertson, northwestBrenner resident <br />Ms. Robertson expressed her perspective as a young parent and <br />the future of and long-term planning for Roseville. Ms. <br />Robertson expressed her concerns about the high volume of <br />retail and traffic congestion. Ms. Robertson opined that the <br />process had been good and participants had been respectful of <br />each other and differing opinions. <br />Thelma McKenzie, Human Rights Commission <br />
