Thanks, Thelma
Members of Roseville's Citizen Advisory Commissions:
The City Council has specifically asked for your input on questions relating to
Roseville's Citizen Advisory Commissions.
The Council is looking at such issues as the size, term lengths, term limits, and mission
of its citizen advisory boards. Attached as background information are the Council-
approved minutes from the October llth Council Study Session where the Council discussed
these issues. Also attached is the staff report for that meeting that analyzes these
issues.
The questions the Council would like your feedback on follow. Please indicate your
choices by replying to this e-mail and include whatever explanation or feedback you wish.
PLEASE REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BUT NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH.
THAT IS A WEEK FROM TOMORROW.
Staff will then share your input verbatim with the City Council and, through the Councils
agenda packet, with the rest of the community.
With the benefit of your feedback, the Council is looking at addressing these issues again
at their Monday, November 15th Study Session in the Council Chambers.
l. Do you think the size of your citizen advisory commission is
a. About Right?
b. Too Large?
c. Too Small?
Explanation, if you wish, about your choice above:
I THINK THE SIZE OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION IS ABOUT RIGHT. (A)
2. Do you think the length of your term is
a. About Right?
b. Too Long?
c. Too Short?
Explanation, if you wish, about your choice above:
Again, (A) In my experience I have found the length of term to be a good period of time.
3. Do you agree with a limit of two terms?
Or would you prefer no term limit?
Or would you prefer some term limit greater than two terms? Explanation, if you wish:
ANSWER
I do not agree with a limit of two terms. A term greater that two terms is preferable.
If two-tterm limits were implemented someone like me would no longer be serving, it takes
time to get programs up and running, to share concrete ideas and move them into action to
1
