Financial implications: The total cost of the proposed 2000 PMP is estimated to be $940,260. This
amount is proposed to be financed as follows:
General Taxes (Bonds) $705,195
Special Assessments $235,065
Total $940,260
Staff recommendation: Overall, the streets in this year's neighborhoods are in relatively good
condition. They were selected for inclusion in the 2000 PMP because they are among those few
streets that have not yet been reconstructed as part of the PMP. As discussed in the feasibility report
the council may wish to consider postponing the proposed 2000 PMP work until pavement
conditions deteriorate.
Staff recommends that we continue the public improvement process and schedule a public hearing.
Although resident input is expected at the public hearing, staff feels that all the hearings can be
completed in one evening. It is recommended that public hearings for the 2000 PMP be scheduled at
the regular City Council meeting on Monday, February 14, 2000, at 7: 15 p.m.
RECOITITENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Adoption of a resolution receiving the feasibility report and scheduling public improvement hearings
for 2000 PMP projects for February 14, 2000, at 7: 15 p.m.
Prepared by: Debra Bloom
