REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: March 27, 2000 <br />Item No: C-4 <br />D�Ea�tment Approval: Mana�er Approved: Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br />: Request for Approval of a Burn Permit to burn wild growth at <br />Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhome Association, 506 Lovell <br />Avenue <br />1.0 Requested Action <br />1.1 Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhome Association is requesting City Council <br />approval of a burn permit to burn wild growth at their site at 506 Love11 Avenue. <br />2.0 Background <br />2.1 Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhome Association is requesting a burn permit for <br />the purpose of burning the wild growth on the perimeter of and adjacent to the <br />storm water retention pond located at the site. This area has not been designated as <br />a Prairie Grass restoration area nor does the Association term it as one. <br />2.2 In 1997 and 1999 the Townhome Association requested and were issued burn <br />permits for this site. In 1999, Applied Ecology, who specializes in conducting burns, <br />were contracted to conduct the burn. It is the Associations intent to retain the <br />services of Applied Ecology for the burn again this year. Further, it is the <br />Association's intent to notify the Roseville Fire Department in advance of the date of <br />this year's burn. <br />2.3 Due to the unpredictable nature of the spring weather, the Association would like <br />the permit for a time period of two weeks, commencing on April 1, 2000 and <br />effective through April �5, 2000. <br />3.0 Staff Recommendation <br />3.1 It is the staff's recommendation that the City Council authorize the Fire Marshal to <br />issue a burn permit to the Concordia Meadows Atrium Townhome Association. <br />The permit would be for the period of April l, 2000 through Apri115, 2000. The <br />purpose of the permit is to burn the wild growth around the water retention pond at <br />the Townhome complex site at 506 Love11 Avenue. <br />RCA-Concordia Meadows Townhome Assn.
