Livable communities
foster a sense of place and community, where interaction and participation in the community
can occur. Land uses are compact and connected, encourage walking and transit use and
accommodate both the car and pedestrian in a pleasing and interconnected manner.
2.3 Loca1 communities are eligible to seek funding through this program if they participate in the
Local Housing Incentives Program. Roseville has participated in the Local Housing
Incentives Program since 1996.
2.4 Roseville is seeking, in partnership with the City of Shoreview, predevelopment funds to
assist in the creation of a master plan and implementation tools for a declining area along its
common border at Lexington and County Road D. Applications for predevelopment
activities are limited to $150,000. The deadline to submit the application was September 22,
2000 but resolutions are being taken until October 22, 2000. The resolution would authorize
Roseville's submission of a grant for the area, in partnership with Shoreview.
RCA — Livable Grant Authorization 2000 - Page 1 of 3
