Roseville responded by approving the establishment of a
recycling fee which has been included as a part of the quarterly utility bill.
Ramsey County has announced that cities may apply for SCORE funds that the County
received from the State of Minnesota. The City has received these funds for the past
eight years. The amount of those funds available to Roseville in 2001 is $69,405.00.
Ramsey County requires that for this particular grant application process the Council
adopt a resolution authorizing submission of the application and acceptance of the
funds. The application is due by October 31.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
The grant will be used to pay a portion of the Curbside Recycling Program. The
proposed budget for 2001 is $223,911. This grant makes up almost one-third of the
budget.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply
for the grant.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Motion adopting resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to
the County of Ramsey for a 2001 SCORE Funding Grant in amount of $69,405.00 for
use in Roseville's residential recycling program.
