T�is �ime the ezpense was $933.20, and �ot eovered by <br />the extension I'd l�ad put in foree on my ho�eowner's }�alicy after the first incident (my <br />deductible is $1,000). <br />These waes on�y added to the debt-load my AR.M imposed, and as a result I fell <br />behind an �ny heatix�g/electricity bi11 aver the last two winters. The `good news' is I've <br />recen�ly caught up oi� rny e�ergy bilis and don't �ace the possibilifiy �� ha�ing my <br />eleclricity and gas cut off as Xcel had threatened. I was able to do so by, and this es ihe <br />`bad news', let�i�g other bii.ls and �portant issues ianguish; i.e. a physician-ardered <br />colonascopy, and a second cataract surgery. In ar� attempt ta further wade t�irou�h this <br />financLal zness, I canceled the security system or� zny ho�e; zny home cieaning service <br />(fiaking it on mysel#�; and both r�ewspaper and cable �eievision services; and any <br />`extraneous' activi.ttes like my physician-recommended health club membership; dining <br />aut rnovies anci so foF-th. When these meas�u-es praved ta r�ot be enough and i fotand I'd <br />need ta cut back even rnore, my options were to: siretch and not fili Rx's because of �he <br />co-pays (I ta.�e 6 prescribed medicatit�ns per day with a combined co-pay of <br />$ l 44.00/month); feed �yself and my service dog less; or not pay property taxes: I apted <br />for The third. <br />In an attempt to get on top nf rny fax and cred�t card obligations I was f�rtunate tb <br />�nd part-�ime employrnent in the last manth which I'� able to handte wi�out too m�ch <br />exhaustion; this will help a bit, �iowever $8.SO/�our for 20 hourslweek daesn'� go far in <br />today's economy. And I've ren�ed my second bedroom to a college student for $SO/week <br />plus help with yard and house maintenance; this started an June l, 2009.
