Mr. Trudgeon stated that the selecrion committee chose Stephen Bubul of Kennedy <br />and Graven to serve as the RHRA Attorney. <br />Motion: Member Maschka moved, seconded by Member Tracy to authorize the HRA Executive <br />Director and HRA Chairman to enter into a contract with Kennedy and Graven for Attorney <br />services for 2009, based upon the interview panel's recommendation. <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />9. Discuss Home and Garden Fair `� ` <br />Housing Coordinator provided an update on the upcoming ��; and distributed a sign�ip sheet <br />for members to participate in maiiiiing the HRA booth a�' �he fair. s. Kelsey noted that the <br />City Council l�ad been solicited for shifts to man the ��cling b� d further advised that <br />Mr. Trudgeon would be at the HRA booth through� ����, �t1 that she would be attending <br />to the logisrics during the event. � _ <br />Ms. Kelsey advised that staff had been working diligently to g� '��� � eting materials together; <br />with the brochure undergoing its final edits and was now at the ry-'nter. Ms. Kelsey advised <br />tl�at an insert in the Roseville Review ���`'�� �' er 17,000 ho�ies in Roseville, in addition to <br />portions of surrounding and adjacent s'�� ��a,� t��� home backpack materials being <br />provided for 5,000 children in the Rose le Sc ��`c�. Ms. Kelsey advised that staff was <br />coordinaring with the Mounds View S ol istrict t coordinate similar backpack materials <br />with them for their students. �.... <br />Ms. Kelsey advised�t�t ��eople were g�;�g excited about the show; and noted that the <br />marketing materi,�'�' `��" �ntended as a��7ermanent markering brochure, providing contact <br />informarion fa���'endors ' sponsors to.�llow networking after the fair. <br />Ms. Kel th l�s were being printed on 50% recycled paper produced in <br />MN in keepin e green element. <br />,advised�� � � s year's fair was short only five (5) exhibitors from past years; but <br />W Living arter theme had broadened the meaning of the fair in the community; <br />and provi ore opporluniries to fill booth vacancies. Ms. Kelsey advised that they had <br />received te'r�; , 0) sponsors; with a total of sixty-nine (69) booths, including public booths as <br />well. Ms. I�`lsey advised that, in this difficult economy, this was a good indicator of interest <br />in the evet�`t:' <br />.'��iudgeon recognized the 24/7 efforts of Ms. Kelsey and Kara Hoier in making people <br />rye of the event and looked forward to this year's fair serving as a springboard for future <br />Member Pust also thanked Ms. Kelsey for her work, and quesrioned the availability of any <br />particular non-profits that would use the remaining five (5) booths. <br />Ms. Kelsey advised that they had been able to reduce exhibitor fees by half for non-profits for <br />the event, including a community-supported agriculture booth. Ms. Kelsey noted the limited <br />budgets for non-profits, and staff's care to ensure they were involved, while keeping the <br />event's fees comparable to similar fairs.
